Issue #2
Editor: Richard T. Herbert

Why HiSci?

We invented the word in 1992 to describe the attributes needed by translators in the 21st century. This gazette is intended as a window on the world of the Linguistic Services SA and Linguistic Services Institute. With time it should demonstrate that our industry really is
"High Science".

Each year Linguistic Services SA makes a special effort to be present at the ATA Conference. María Herbert normally presents a paper and is accompanied by the winner of the Linguistic Services Institute Prize for the Outstanding Translator of the Year.
